Mama's Mini-Interview with vmvxec!

Hey Gang!

Mama P here. So I’m starting this new thing where I do a mini-interview with an artist in our spheres – just 3 questions (like I said, a “mini-interview”) and I’ll post here on the WAC website once in awhile. Enjoy!

Mama’s Mini-Inteview with vmvxec

This artist’s music evokes many moods – sometimes I feel surrounded by loneliness, sometimes like someone hidden is watching me, sometimes an ethereal contentment (always on the edge of action), sometimes I feel emboldened and ready to take on the world by myself, and sometimes I just dance. But I always feel something whenever I listen to vmvxec. From his powerful, sweeping compositions like “Sun in Time” to his many collaborations with other WAC artists (Hiraeth, Alma Lahar, Nullus, and yours truly) vmvxec’s style is the beating heart of every piece he creates. 1. When did you start making music?

Started playing guitar when I was around 13 and started to compose music with some awful midi editor at the same time.

2. What inspires you to make music?

Lots of things. Mostly it is the thrill of being totally immersed in a soundscape and emotion.

3. Can you tell me a little bit about your process?

I usually start with fleshing out the structure according to my current ideas. The ideas change, I add or remove parts. If the track corresponds with the overall feeling I want for the song I save it. Otherwise I lose interest and start something else.

You can find vmvxec here—go here—now!
